As part of my our Christmas and New Years travels, we stayed in Suko Thai. It is an ancient city with fabulous ruins. The best part is visiting them via pedal bikes that you rent for 20 baht (50 cents) a day.

We arrived on Christmas Eve to find a couple of rooms right across from the main gate.

After opening Christmas prensents we biked through the old city ruins.

After going back to the rooms for a nap we drove out to this temple towards sunset.

The only other people at this ruin was a couple from the west coast.

This site is around 5 or 6 km from the old city center. We made it just before sunset.

The sunset was behind us and overcast. I decided to turn my back on it, just as Budda was.
